More Darvon Lawsuits Expected as Darvon Fallout from FDA Ban Grows

March 16, 2011

The amount of Darvon Lawsuits, that expected to be filed against the drug companies, are on the rise since the FDA ban of propoxyphene in November 2010. Propoxyphene has been known to cause heart abnormalities in patients that had no before.

Darvon, which contains the drug propoxyphene, was one of the most widely prescribed drugs at the time of its FDA ban with prescriptions numbering in the millions per year.  And due to FDA negligence, at least 1,000 to 2,000 or more people in the US have died from using propoxyphene since the time the UK ban was announced," Sidney Wolfe of Public Citizen said in a statement.

Many like Public Citizen argue that the FDA ban was too late and those who were injured just before the ban would have been sparred from their injuries as the FDA took almost 5 years to catch up with the European Market ban of the drug since 2005.

The good news for many is that the FDA's statement and the voluntary recall by drug maker Xanodyne now make the possibility of winning a Darvocet case or settlement much more likely. And with the amount of people starting to show different symptoms of being ill, no one can deny the fact that the drug is as deadly as it is helpful.

If you or someone you know has been injured by the consumption of Darvon and Darvocet you do have rights, for more information on your rights on this matter you can always visit the Darvon and Darvocet main site.
